Röyksopp are soon to release the 3rd single ‘This Must Be It’ off Junior featuring Karin Andersson (Fever Ray & The Knife) on vocals and for a pre release they are promoting the remix by LehtMoJoe. LMJ takes the track on a nice little blender ride of chillout RnB and floating strings. I could picture Aaliyah laying duet vocals down on this one.

As the release date slowly approaches for Basement Jaxx‘s forthcoming LP Scars my anticipation grows even more. Luckily enough they have released the video to single no.2 Feelings Gone featuring the vocal talents of Mr. Sam Sparro who seems to have bleached his mop very blonde. In my opinion its a much better video than Raindrops which could of had a similar video that might have brought it up the charts here in Oz more. I’m just glad Feelings Gone is near release anyway, as all the tracks/remixes have been kept off the blog world perhaps to give more life to the 1st single.

Let the promotion begin! Natalie Imbruglia is back and I couldn’t be happier. A new promo video for ‘Wild About it’ has hit the internet and while it may seem kinda sound effort at first it is a little gem for my ears. Take a look at the video below and tell me what you think. The official single is titled ‘Want’ which can be heard on her mypsace page now and will be out at the end of September a week before her 4th studio album is launched. So dust off your old Imbruglia LPs and bask in the Aussie chick who seems very much like the girl next door.

Isabella in Tokyo

A few days ago I discovered that teenagersintokyo put out a new track called Isabella. It’s a nice atmospheric number with plenty of reverb and emotion perfect to be played out load. I’m looking forward to their debut album release which according to the band on their myspace blog they were just wrapping up at the start of the month.

Despite not taking off down under just yet I seem to be still loving Shakira‘s new single She Wolf. The track is a very cool change for Shakira, like a disco inferno, space like in everyway. I can’t wait for the new album to drop.
There are a few remixes running around blogland, But my favourite at the moment is by Calvin Harris. LOVE the cowbell…

With more future pop sounds hitting my ears I thought it would be perfect to talk about the male voice that is causing girls to fall to their knees and a few boys too. hehe. That man is Frankmusik a slim man from South East London bringing back all the best sounds of the 80’s/90’s and making it sound a whole lot better, so he says. At the moment he is working with Stuart Price, the legend who produced Madonna’s Confessions on a Dancefloor for his debut album. Yet that hasn’t stopped FRNKMSK from releasing song after song on his myspace and making videos to go with them too. Howling Bells – Radio Wars

An indie band who used to hail from Australia and now giging it up in the UK with the previous name of Waikiki have just released their 2nd LP Radio Wars with some pretty solid indie.pop goodness. Howling Bells grabs my attention on the tracks Nightingale and Digital Hearts so far, and of course there is Cities Burning Down which has had a high rotation for sometime now. But I highly recommend Nightingale a slower number much like Setting Sun if you’re familiar with the earlier records HB put out.

Pin Me Down

With the release of the Australian version of Ministry of Sounds’ Clubbers Guide to 2009 comes a stack load of new and old tracks chucked together on 3 massive discs. And as always I get hooked on at least a handful of the songs. The 1st being from Pin Me Down a punk.pop.electro band featuring the vocal talents of Milena Mepris and guitar works by Russell Lissack of Bloc Party fame. The track is Cryptic which bounces back and forth just begging to be played at maximum volume. MOS CL09 features the Phones remix, which does even more magic adding more synths and cutting Milena’s voice at all the right spots. COV will be bringing you more Pin Me Down as it hits.
